Peachtree Corners Festival, June 8 & 9

Join us for the Third Annual Peachtree Corners Festival, Saturday June 8 and Sunday June 9, 2013! Hours are from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday and from noon to 5 pm on Sunday. Located on tree-lined The Corners Parkway at the intersection at Woodhill Drive, the festival offers free admission and on-site free parking. No shuttle buses needed!

This year there will be even more fun! Lots of arts and crafts vendors, many favorites from previous years as well as new to Peachtree Corners Festival will be there. Plenty of yummy food from area restaurants such as Three Dollar Café, LaNonna’s, Gigi’s Gourmet Cupcakes, Kiko’s, Johnny’s NY Pizza as well as perennial festival favorites like King of Pops and Granny’ s Lemonade and of course, cotton candy, kettle korn, funnel cakes, popcorn and delicious Pearson Peaches! Musical acts this year include Gypsies on Parole, Jenna Leigh Councill, Soul Purpose, Steel Dreaming Band, Three Way Street, LeonardoBlush Trio and The Voice contestant Jordan Rager! Lots of exciting inflatables and other fun activities will round out the Peachtree Corners Festival Kids Korner. Be sure to stop by the Macaroni Kid booth to say hello!

The weekend starts off early Saturday morning with an invigorating 5K race/fun run and delicious pancake breakfast sponsored by the Peachtree Corners Rotary Club. A stunning car and bike show will also take place on Saturday only, featuring TV personality Sam Memmello, the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow and many spectacular classic cars and motorcycles.
The Peachtree Corners Festival was created to raise funds for the beautification of the newest city in Gwinnett County and to support the education of our youngest citizens. And as a benefit, we all get to have some good old-fashioned entertainment!

Get your teen prepared for college life!The University of Georgia’s Pre-College Summer Program gives rising juniors and seniors a two-week introduction to life on UGA’s Athens campus. Your college-aspiring teen will experience campus life and learn what it takes to succeed in college classes. The agenda is intellectually rigorous and enlightening, with classes, workshops, assignments, field trips, and leisure-time options. In addition, your teen will get a head start on important independent living skills, such as budgeting and time management. Two students share a dorm room in gender-separate wings. 1 cup half & half (or light cream)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup coarse salt or table salt(I used canning salt)
